TASCA is a non-profit sailng school with the goal of introducing the sport of sailing to the general public. We work in cooperation with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation to provide inexpensive basic sailing lessons to anyone interested. No prior sailing experience is necessary and passing a swim test is the only prerequisite to taking the class.

If you are interested in signing up for classes in 2012, e-mail us by clicking here: info@sailtasca.org; or call us at 718-699-1951. Classes consist of a weekly session, over seven consecutive weeks. We hold sessions in the spring and summer seasons.

After completing the course, students are invited to join TASCA’s sailing club. Membership entitles you to:

  • Free sailing on Meadow Lake
  • Sail the Long Island Sound on the club’s 28-foot sloop and 32-foot schooner (for a small fee!)
  • Advanced sailing courses.
  • Join in group charters, called "Rendezvous"
